Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips ~1.5 cups
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract

White Chocolate Layer

  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 10 ounces white chocolate chips ~1.5 cups
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 full sized candy canes crushed, divided

Instructions

Chocolate Layer

  • Line an 8x11 casserole dish or a 9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, and salt. Stir frequently until chocolate chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in peppermint extract. Spread evenly in prepared baking pan/dish.

White Chocolate Layer

  • In a clean saucepan over medium heat, add sweetened condensed milk, milk chocolate chips, butter, and salt. Stir frequently until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and 1/4 cup crushed candy canes (from about 3 candy canes).
  • Spread evenly over chocolate layer and immediately sprinkle remaining bits of crushed candy canes over top of white chocolate.
  • Place fudge in refrigerator for at least 3 hours to let firm. Cut into small pieces before serving.
