Chocolate Layer
- 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips ~1.5 cups
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
White Chocolate Layer
- 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 10 ounces white chocolate chips ~1.5 cups
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 full sized candy canes crushed, divided
Chocolate Layer
Line an 8x11 casserole dish or a 9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
In a saucepan over medium heat, add sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, and salt. Stir frequently until chocolate chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat. Stir in peppermint extract. Spread evenly in prepared baking pan/dish.
White Chocolate Layer
In a clean saucepan over medium heat, add sweetened condensed milk, milk chocolate chips, butter, and salt. Stir frequently until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and 1/4 cup crushed candy canes (from about 3 candy canes).
Spread evenly over chocolate layer and immediately sprinkle remaining bits of crushed candy canes over top of white chocolate.
Place fudge in refrigerator for at least 3 hours to let firm. Cut into small pieces before serving.
