Chocolate Coconut Lime Bars

Graham cracker crust topped with toasted coconut, fresh lime zest, and chocolate chips. These Chocolate Coconut Lime Bars are a fun twist on seven layer bars.

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp key lime juice
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut
  • zest 1 large lime


  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Fold so that sides are covered as well.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter. Stir in graham cracker crumbs until well mixed. Evenly spread crumb mixture over bottom of pan, then use palm of your hands to pack it down.
  • Evenly sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips over graham cracker crust. Repeat with dark chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  • In a small bowl stir together sweetened condensed milk and key lime juice. Drizzle evenly over chocolates and nuts.
  • Next, in a small bowl, stir together coconut and lime zest. Evenly sprinkle over condensed milk. Bake for 27-30 minutes, or until coconut begins to turn golden brown. Let cool in pan before removing and cutting into bars.


Key lime juices gives a strong, delicious lime flavor. You will likely find it on the juice aisle of your grocery store. If you do not, you can substitute fresh or bottled lime juice, but the lime flavor will not be as strong.
As my grocery store does not regularly carry key limes, I used the zest of a standard lime.
