Brownies
- 3/4 cup butter melted, then cooled so that it is no longer hot, but is still liquid
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Cookie Dough Frosting
- 3/4 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
Brownies
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line bottom and sides of 9" square pan with parchment paper.
In a medium sized bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
Stir in sugar and light brown sugar.
Next, stir in melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until batter is well combined, but still lumpy.
Bake for 30-33 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center of pan comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
Cookie Dough Frosting
Use electric mixer to beat light and dark brown sugars, sugar, and butter, until lightened and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Add salt and vanilla extract to sugar mixture, and beat until well combined.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Then slowly beat into sugar mixture.
Add milk to mixing bowl and beat until well combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Spread mixture over top of cooled brownies. Cut into about 20 rectangles.
